The 2010 Niagara Falls International Marathon will be held on October 24th. This will be the 27th running of the marathon which began in 1974. It is still the only marathon that starts in one country and ends in another. The Niagara Falls Internation Marathon begins at the Albright Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY and crosses the Peace Bridge into Fort Erie Canada. The marathon then follows a route along the beautiful Niagara River. The race ends at Niagara Falls.
There are a few changes to The Niagara Falls International Marathon this year. The primary charity will be The Walker Family Cancer Center. Also, there will be comemmortive timing chips that may be kept as souvenires. The marathon is also a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
There will be many events in Niagara Falls that weekend leading up to the marathon. One of which will be the Skylon Tower Health and Fitness Expo. There will also be a pasta dinner for all you carb loading runners at ItalPasta. The Running Room International Breakfast Run will be held on Saturday. It will be a free fun run around Niagara Falls with a breakfast to follow.
Hotels all over Niagara Falls are sure to have stay packages for those traveling to the area for the marathon. There are a number of outstanding hotels on both sides of the boarder.
